In this session, we are delighted to welcome Jesse Norman MP, former Financial Secretary to the Treasury and Chair of the Culture, Media, and Sport Committee, to discuss the role that specialist institutions can play in addressing local skills "cold spots", building on his experience with the New Model Institute for Technology and Engineering in Hereford. The session will cover how new universities can help increase higher local qualifications provision and productivity, how they should work with the provision offered by existing Further Education partners, and how to link the integration of tertiary education to the UK's industrial strategy.
