A Big Welcome to Our New Members

We're delighted to welcome a marvellous mix of new members to the Lifelong Education Institute, spanning the School, Further Education and University sectors.

The University of Hertfordshire is one of England's pioneers of place-based vocational higher education and a powerhouse in delivering high-level technical skills. The Edinburgh Business School at Heriot-Watt University became the first Scottish institution to join the LEI, closely followed by the Adam Smith Business School at the University of Glasgow, both bringing their expertise in international and online education. EURASHE, the European Association of Institutes of Higher Education – an organisation bringing together universities and colleges across Europe to focus on applied HE – is our first transnational member.

On the FE front, we welcome Capital City College Group – the biggest college in London – and the Bedford College Group, another of the new "super-size" colleges emerging across England, along with the impressive West Herts College Group. Also joining us are First Intuition, a hugely successful independent training provider operating across the country, specialising in Accountancy and Finance. Last but not least, The Unity Schools Partnership – our first ever Multi Academy Trust member – manages over 30 schools across the East of England.

This spectrum of new members reflects our core mission, as the only organisation in England representing the whole Tertiary Education sector. All of them will add to the growing voice of the LEI as we join our partners across the sector to influence the next government’s education policy.

Join us. Make a difference. Help us move the policy dial to revive adult learning in all its forms and make lifelong learning a reality for the UK.
